Me and the interns took a quick trip to Georgetown-definitely the coolest part of DC. It is the oldest part of the city and has a great, quaint feeling. But since its the home of Georgetown University it is also really good for the college crowd. Georgetown's campus is also amazing.

First Day On the Job
The first day of work was really something. I was awe struck with the fact that I was walking down the halls of the Senate to get to work. Long story short, they showed me around and showed me the ropes.
My first task the the essential process of screening the Senator's mail. I picked up the first envelope, and to my surprise, found a Hustler magazine. I has no idea what to do, and calmly walked to the mail director. She laughed, and explained that there is a tradition that every month, Hustler sends a copy to every senator...usually offices just use it to play tricks on new interns. I beat them to it!
First Impressions
Hello all! I am writing to you today from my temporary home in Washington, DC. I must say it has been a bit overwhelming. I started out the journey with a cold; complete with a soar throat and faucet for a nose. As far as air travel goes, I was that guy on the flight nobody wants to sit by- the reason a school teacher created Airborne. After a miserable 5 hour red eye flight from LAX to Dulles, I found my way to the Supershuttle and arrived at the University of California Washington Center.
The location of the apartment is ideal. It is located across the street from the Canadian and Australian Embassies and next door to a few hotels an the HQ of the Human Rights Campaign. The "hip" DuPont circle is a few blocks away and the White House is an easy 5 minute walk
